A weekend of remeberence

Tonight I'm going to lit the candles on the grave where my parents are.
I have a special gift from her ,a crochet blanket she made many many years ago and she used small amounts of yarn/scraps from knitted things for us in the family.I use it nearly every day and this is a "warm" gift for the body and the soul.

New mittens in Sandness Palett superwash

A perfect weekend project is mittens made in a varigated yarn. The cuff is made by knit 3 or 4 rows and purl 3 or 4 rows as long as you want to have it.I tried to get the same colour variation but it was impossible with the 2 skeins I had.A nice knitting and the yárn is so wonderful to work with.

Sandnes palett superwash
color 0578
This yarn reminds me a little of Noro yarn I used for socks but this is 100&wool.I bought it in the local yarnn shop.We had a knittinf meeting in the library and ther they showed this yarn and I fell in love with it.

Saturday morning a lovely white cover of snow in the garden but today it was a rainy cloudy morning .I love snow, not much snow but ...

October 4 the celebration of cinnamon buns

http://annesfood.blogspot.com/2007/10/swedish-cinnamon-buns.html

The first "snow" came this night but went away very fast. The leaves are falling so it's wonderful to celbrate the cinnamon buns instead,a very common "cake"in Sweden.I made some and we had a nice "fika".I wish you all were here.

Sunday September 20

I took a walk in the garden and along the lovely river. No sunshine and a little windy. The autumn is here. But the air is so fresh and now and then we have had sunshine during the day.And a lovely sun dawn with lovely red/pink colours on the sky.
The socks in yellow I knit are socks designed by Nancy Bush,a famous designer often using lace in her socks.I participate in a KAL on Ravelry so I'm looking forward the next clue.

Fantasy flowers

A type of crazy flowers on a fabric page made by scraps made for a friend,Ati,in Norway. The colours are very much my favourite colours just now.The summer has ended but the bright colours still exist in my memories.

I have also a sentence by Buddha on the back of the page.
"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change."

White orkid and socks

A new week, the last of my vacarions, starts with flowers,a cup of tea and knitting socks.
The black ones are made by yarn from
www.chiligredelin.se
and the other pair in blue/green is made of yarn from
www.sannaticks.se

The black ones are made in no special pattern but the yarn is so smooth,it's in 80 % merino wool and 20 %nylon.I started with a lace pattern but it's too varigated so I choosed to do some rows in a different colour on the cuff.
The blue/green ones are made in 75% wool and 25 % polyamid. The pattern is from a KAL of Summer Lovin on www.ravelry.com.The pattern is so wonderful to do so the knitting make me so happy. Both the yarns are hand dyed.

The orkid is a gift I'v got from the girlfriend of my son.Thank you so much M.You really made me so happy and you really knew my favourite orkid and the white colour.
We have had the great happiness to have our both boys and the girlfiend of the eldest with us for 2 weeks.

I wish you a Happy Midsummer

Flowers in the garden, mostly wild ones brighten up the day and night. We have so much daylight but today it's not so warm.Tomorrow they say it comes. The gramdmother has her birthday tomorrow and she is really worth all sunshine .We are going to celebrate the Midsummer Eve with BBQ and a sauna. You can see the sauna to the left on the last picture.Perhaps the sun doesn't go down tonight.Maybe we get a magical evening and night. No I'm not going to pick 7 types of flowers to put under the cushion. When I was young I did it but I don't know who I dreamt about.Maybe it was my husband.

I wish you all a lovely Midsummer

Socks in Noro Silk garden sock

The second pair of socks in Noro silk garden sock is ready. The cuff is made in green scraps from s252 and s87 and I made it in a lace pattern. The rest of the socks are made in s252.I love the result but it was more joyful knitting in s87.I think these socks are more useful because the leg and foot is not dominating because of the colours. The yarn is nice to work with. The socks need to be handwashed so .....

Art and traditions

http://www.yayoi-kusama.jp/e/information/index.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yayoi_Kusama
Yayoi Kusama ,a japaneese artist I really love because she does something odd and also provocative.
I saw in a magazin bags designed by her in white and red with dots in different sizes. She still seems to be very active. She designs things for everyday life but also art for public use.

The japaneese flag has a great red "dot".The shrines and other religious buildings often has a type of red colour. The geishas we saw were dressed in bright colours. Most of the people were dressed in soft calm colours with few patterns on but on special occasions.Really a paradox or only a great contrast.

(Picture taken by M Sakakibara)

I hope I can go on with round forms in my knitting, crochet, emboidery and patchwork.Just now I have thousands of ideas but not so much time until the middle of June.

Socks in Noro Silk garden sock S87

Socks in wonderful colours and in a great yarn.Noro Silk garden sock S87
The colours make the pattern.Except for the yellow part I have knitted them as the colours are comninated. To sock 2 I had to wind a little forward before I started so I could get nearly the same stripe colours.I have had some great houres of knitting and I hope I cand do more as it's something you can knit even if you are a little bit tired after a day at work or if you want to knit some minutes/houres early in the morning.

I bought the yarn from www.garnkorgen.se an online store in Sweden
